Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Will Visit Orissa on 31st August

Spiritual master and the founder of The Art of Living Param Poojya Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji is making a two day visit to Odisha. The icon of non-violence and universal human values, Sri Sri is the founder and the lifetime President of Sri Sri University. On 31st August, there is a Program of Maha Satsang at 5 pm in Sri Sri University Campus, Bidyadharpur Arilo, Cuttack.

The Art of Living family has invited one and all to the program. The Maha Satsang, normally comprises of three key component Gaan (music), Gyaan (knowledge) and Dhyan (meditation).

On 1st September, the varsity celebrates its second Convocation from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Besides, graduates receiving their degrees, two higher degree research students will also have the distinction of being the first Ph.Ds of the University. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will deliver convocation address as chief guest of the function in the august presence of Sri Sri. The event will also be graced by our Guests of Honor Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, Government of Odisha and Shri. Shavji Dhanji Dholakia, Founder and Chairman Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. who will also be addressing the attendees. Sri Sri University is located in a sprawling campus adjacentto the Kathjodi river. The University offers a number of courses at different levels, undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral studies. In Management, it offers MBA in General Management, Agri-Business, and Entrepreneurship; BBA; B.Com. Apart from these, there are specialized Programs in Master’s in Good Governance and Public Policy: Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Science; Bachelors in Performing Arts (Odissi Dance and Hindustani Vocal).

The University is also launching B.Arch and M.Sc (Osteopathy) in this academic session. The varsity has over 600 students. Sri Sri University is unique in developing a drug free, alcohol free, and a fully vegetarian campus. One of the main purpose behind setting up this university has been to provide the best of the east and of the west. Envisioned by Sri Sri, the varsity was established as a centre for world class education. So, Indian students do not have to leave the country in search of what they perceive to be better opportunities.

The University takes pride in offering a blended curriculum that enriches both domain expertise and life skills. The Art of Living Program, that includes yogic practices like Asanas, Pranayamas, Meditation and Sudarshan Kriya techniques are the integral part of all the streams of the study. These scientifically proven techniques equip the students with necessary knowledge and tools to self-reflect, handle stress and manage their minds effectively. The students also take special initiative to engage in the ancient philosophies, knowledge and scientific practices in order to revive and bring those to main stream process of education.

True to the motto and spirit of the varsity, students do Learn, Lead and Serve. Students participate and take up several service project in nearby communities.As a part of the University’s community empowerment initiatives, there are more than 400 women in 20 adjacent villages, who have been trained in vocational skills to increase income generating capacities. In collaboration with L&T PCT, more than 500 school dropout/ orphaned youth have been trained in construction skills and duly placed.

The University offers a rich, vibrant leaning experience in a healthy and beautiful Campus.
